My Broken Fallopian Tubes: part deux
Got a call from Winky today. In a conference with the fertility specialists he consults with, he laid out to them my entire medical (pregnancy) history. They do not like to go the surgical route, as it can often lead to more problems. Big sigh of relief from Rob and I, as I missed the first call from Winky today and in his message he stated that he got the results of my test back and we needed to talk about the "action we need to take based on my results". Rob and I figured that meant I would need to have surgery, and neither were enthused with the idea. Anyway, that is not what the fertility specialists suggested. Winky said that it is not a given that your ovaries take turns ovulating month to month. I could easily ovulate on just one side (perhaps the bad side) which would explain my no babies for a year and a half. So, apparently by taking Clomid, I can force both Ovaries to ovulate at the same time. He warned me of the risk of twins with this drug, but also said that the fact that one tube is blocked, will bring the chance down some. So anyway, I am going to start Clomid next cycle and try that for 3 to 6 months. I have heard Clomid can be no picnic, but I far prefer taking a pill to having surgery any day. So that is that. As for twins? What ever, bring them on! If I had twins, I could have three kids and be done with it. I'm not getting any younger you know.

Yay Em! A pill! I'm so glad you don't have to have surgery. And the Wright family definitely needs a set of twins. You could name them Merry and Pippin!
Oh my gag..... I trust that Em will not do that. Haha. That would be so awesome to have twins! I always thought it would be cool to have a boy and a girl. You were already pregnant with twins before, it could happen again. I am also glad that you don't have to have surgery. I have heard that clomid makes you feel yucky though. You can handle it. My sister in law has to take it because she has ovarian cysts...does not sound fun.
You are right to trust me Haley, my future babies will not be named after Hobbits. Even if I wanted to, Rob would never in a million years consent, in fact to keep that from happening, he would steal away with the babies in the night and take them to a far away land (not Middle earth)
HAHAHA!! I wanted to name our boy and girl twins Hyrum and Annabelle, but Matt nixed that idea. Yay pills over surgery too! I really really hope they work.

On an unrelated note Haley, Scout today was sitting in the back of the car and out of the blue said, "I want to see Marcus", then after a pause said, "....and Haley". That's an improvement! Then she told me she had a secret, I leaned my ear in and she said, "lets go see Haley and Marcus".
That is so cute!! At least she knows my name, even when she won't actually let me on to that fact!
Hey I heard that you were going to take clomid and I take clomid so I was going to tell you my experience on that wonderful drug...
First of all that is how I got preggo with Madeline. It makes me a bit emotional but the worst part for me was the upset stomach and headaches that seemed to last for 3 weeks. But it is sure worth it when you get that positive pregnancy test!!!
It also makes me ovulate early, like around day 10. So I would buy a fertility monitor so you can pinpoint ovulation. Also ask your doctor about doing mid-cycle ultrasounds which can show if you have mature eggs (also if you have a mature egg on your good side), and then they can give you a shot that will cause you to ovulate. My doctor also does a blood test at day 21 of my cycle to check my progesterone levels to make sure I had a good ovulation.
I really hope that clomid works for you!!
Hey thanks for the info Nina. I haven't heard of Clomid making your stomach hurt. Lame. Oh well, you are right, it's totally worth it if it works. I have a borrowed fertility monitor in my possession, so I will indeed be using that, it has been giving me an egg every month, so I am ovulating (plus I've had that progesterone blood test) I am ovulating, just maybe the eggs couldn't get through. They should now at least on the one side since it appeared clear. I am being put on Clomid to make the one good side ovulate for sure. I start in a couple days! I hope it works (and works fast!)
