Bloggy Blog Blog

So, I have had a brainstorm. Well, perhaps the credit shouldn't be mine, since the idea was born of cruising through my friend Ami's many many blogs she contributes to. She has her hand in several blogs that her family (Hart Family) post on and this all gave me an idea. How's about our family makes a community blog where in we might all pitch in. I was thinking it could be a place where we can review, discuss, and announce the books, movies, TV Shows we have seen, loved and hated. Say, I just read a fantastic book, I could give it a little review and let you all know. Mom and dad saw a great movie last night? Let us know about it. This would also be a fantastic place to compile the eagerly awaited "Wright Family Book List".
We have a growing number of us making their own blogs (I've heard things about Amy starting one?), so the ones that have not done that only need to set up a free google account, it is quick and easy and you can ask any number of us how to do this if you are afraid/ignorant. I would be willing to get the thing started, and I am not sure how to do this, but add anyone who is interested to be a contributor (that is, someone that can post blogs on the blog). I'm a quick learner, it should be cake.
I think it would be fun! Any interest?
I have come up with a few name ideas too to get you all excited:

Wright Choices (Too cheesy? I also realize few of us are "Wrights" but we are all of the Wright seed one way or another).

My Fair Lady to Dirty Rotten Scoundrels

I Like Me Some Books! (and Movies)

Help me out here. Sue, I know you are good for some gems...

That would be fun! I think the only way you could do it having all of us be able to get on there is to just come up with our own email account and just have everyone know the password. I think it is a way fun idea!

I agree! Sounds like a lot of fun.

Here are 3 names I came up with as soon as I read the post:

The Kids Were All Wright- (we were all Wright's at one time, well not B and Haley, but you get the drift. Also a nice play of words of a really good Who album)

Choose the Wright...Blog- So cheesy I'm almost embarrassed.

And my favorite so far:

George and the Fern Zippys.

I'm sure I'll come up with more as the day goes on.

Oh yeah, I meant to say in my last comment that I don't think we could use "Wright Choices" Matt might try to sue us for copyright infringement or something like that.

Haha! I knew you'd come up with some good ones. Perhaps we should start a poll and have a vote on the favorite.

Haley-
Blogger has a really easy and good set up for blogs with several contributors. Check out my friend Ami's profile (I hope you don't mind Aim) it shows all the blogs she contributes to and how several people post to the same page. As soon as everyone sets up an account, it would be far simpler to keep everything on track and who is who.

Count me in. I really like "The Kids Are All Wright", personally.

The question is Cat. Would you actually contribute to the blog? We all know the hangups ou have with them.

Ok, here's what we'll do. Make sure the word spreads about this blog today (I commented to Dad, Matt and Cath and I see Cath got hers)and everyone today can have their say on names. Sue, you have the day to come up with any more names you may come up with. Tonight I will fashion a poll on my blog where we can vote. I will keep the voting open for a few days and then start the blog. Once I put the url in we are committed and that is like the first step. Haley, your job is to spread the Phister word.

Cheers.

Wright On

By the way, my last comment is both a name consideration and an answer to Emily's last comment.

Funny, my friend/(old)work-mate Mike's email is the kids ain't alright......
Just an observation and another play on that album.

Yay bloggy!! Matt says he's in, and I am too! Matt has been not liking Wright Choice Video (the name) for a while now, so I'm sure he'd let us use it. Plus, I'm a Wright now. I like the Kids Are All Wright. George and the Sodies is a good way to get pops involved. Here's a few more fantastic blog ideas: My Dirty Rotten Scoundrel Lady isn't Fair
The Few-kitty Fun-fest
Rarnie and the Sodie pop gang
Eat cereal and look at Fishy Book
The Bart Lucks
My Little Brother Drank Gasoline One Time
Where's Duncan?
Down With Tiny E.
Some Lady Thought Scott was Her Dog
The Champions of Idiots (for Cath)
The Bips
Gollum and the Shmeagel lovers
Matt hopes none of us start speaking Klingon
...But It Was So Pink
The Best Rolls are In Hawaii,

We love you guys.

Matt and B

We should make two family blogs, one that is dedicated to book/movie reviews and the like, the second of funny family stories and things. The first I would think needs to have Wright in it, the second, I would definitely vote for George and the Fern Zippys.

Please explain the following:
Dirty rotten Scoundrel Lady isn't fair
The scott/dog one
The hawaii rolls
These are family jokes I am not familiar with...

Haley said...

Haha. The Scott dog one you need to hear for yourself, I can't do it justice! And the hawaii rolls is one of my own that happened the other day. Matt and Kyle were teasing me because I said the best rolls are in Hawaii, and they are purple! Then a whole string of other events happened after that...(I started laughing so hard and had to pee, ran into the bathroom where Annie happened to be, then ran down the hall and my shorts fell off...etc) Yeah, I get teased a lot now. So there you go. I personally like "Wright On." So, I feel left out because I have never been a Wright and I am the only one. Oh well. We should call the blog: "You don't spell it Wright, you spell it Phister!!" I said that to my nursery teacher(Sis. Woodfield) when she asked my if she spelled my name "wright." Haha.

Emily said...

Wow, there is a lot of stuff there for me to comment on.
But, I just can't get past the fact that Sis Woodfield asked a nursery aged child about the spelling of her last name (or anything for that matter). Scout doesn't even know what a last name is....

I like a lot of the ones B suggested. It is hard to decide! The Bart Lucks! I was trying to think of that yesterday, but couldn't remember what it was. I want to vote for all of them!

Maybe two of them would be a good idea. One for book/movie reviews and one for fun stories and stuff.

Haley, your shorts fell down? Haha I bet Matt and Kyle were laughing so hard! I can just picture it.

Sue said...

Who voted for Choose the Wright....Blog? We cannot name the blog that, even if that one wins!

Emily said...

It wasn't me!!

Oh, My dirty rotten scroundrel lady isn't fair was just a lame joke about the name you suggested (My Fair Lady to Dirty Rotten Scoundrels), the Scott/Dog one is a story he told while you guys were up here (I'm 97% sure Sue was there when he told it), and Haley already hit the last one. What is a Fern Zippy? Also, we could be the Children of the Father of Mysteries, or A Whip, Two Nuts and a Nut (I though that that was a dirty joke until Matt explained it to me recently...)

B

P.S. Sue, weren't you the one that came up with Choose the Wright Blog? I vote to not have that one also.

Emily said...

Ah, the Scott dog story just hit me, yes I've heard that a few times. Fern Zippy is the substitute name dad uses when he can't remember someone's name. We had a dog actually named Fern Zippy once.
Just for the record, it is: whip, nuts, and a nut.

Sue said...

Yes, I'm the one who came up with the lame Choose the Wright...Blog. But, I was brainstorming. It came to mind and I typed it, and then regretted it a lot.

Haley said...

I already voted but it is not letting us vote twice on the same computer becuase my mom wants to vote so her votes are: "The Kids Were All Wright" and "Wright On."

Sue said...

I just put the vote in for Amy. I'm at my work computer, so it let me. I did my votes on my home computer.

Thanks Sue!
