I went to my first doctor's visit today (just paper and blood work really) and I got a different due date! Not only is it 2 days earlier (always a good thing) it's 9/9/09. Now I would really like to have my baby on it's due date how cool a birthday would that be?
Also, my first real doctor's appointment is next week on the 29th. This will be the soonest they can do an ultrasound and be able to see a baby in there. Eeek! I'm scared.

That would be an awesome birthday! I'm glad that you have a different due date, now I am starting to understand why early is better! Haha. I miss sleep..... Good luck with the ultrasound, be sure to let us know how it goes.
Yaaaaaayyyyy!!!! In the Matt Wright household we will have our fingers crossed that Baby Pugh will be awake and kicking you every bit as soon as Baby Ally. So this ultrasound will dispel most fears that the baby is in the wrong spot?
We are all rooten for you ems. Due date is awesome and I hope it is realized.
It hit me last week that if you had the baby 2 days early it would have 9/9/9 as it's birthday. 9 is a good number. I like 3's and 9's. A few years ago my birthday was on 3/3/3.
Holy cow, I forgot Sue's birthday was March also, we have so many in this family! I will never have a cool birthday date. Mine doesn't relate at all. It definitely is relieving having that first ultrasound, it was for me. We are thinking rooting about you Ems!
B - it will dispel many worries. I have an increased chance of having a molar pregnancy again for one, right now though, my biggest worry is an ectopic pregnancy. I think my worry about one of these is two fold. One being that I know I have one yucky tube. If the "good tube" has any of what the bad tube has in it, maybe the baby couldn't make it out and is growing in there. Two, if this does happen, it would damage my only good fallopian tube and could make pregnancy impossible. Ectopic pregnancies are usually caught in the 6th or 7th week when the baby gets big enough to start outgrowing the tube. I am on my last day of my 6th week, and have had no symptoms of one, so that is good. Pain is a big symptom and I have been looking for pain and have had none. I also had blood work done this week and another symptom is a low hcg hormone and they never called me and I would assume they would if my hcg was off, although I am sure they are mostly going to be checking to see if it is high again. I am really starting to feel pregnant the last few days, so I imagine my level isn't low.
Anyway, this is my current biggest worry from a pregnancy that I expect is going to be riddled with worries. Hopefully, most will go away by the 20 week ultrasound and I can relax from there. We'll see.
It sounds like everything is going good so far though, that is a good sign. Ectopic pregnancies are pretty rare I think. I worried about having one too after reading a pregnancy book, I was having some pain during my first few weeks. I realized after a while that it was just ligament pain and I was fine. I think you worry about everything though when you are pregnant, especially if you have had something go wrong before.
Actually I read today that ectopic pregnancies occur in 1 in 50 pregnancies and for someone that overcame odds far greater then 1 in 2,000- 1 in 50 doesn't seem that scarce.
I am not tremendously worried about this, but I will feel much better after my scan next week.
I worry sometimes that my left big toe is numb at times. I am overwhelmed at what you women go through to have a healty baby and all the pregency stuff to worry about. Good bless you mothers and mothers to be!!!
Oh my gosh dad, your left toe comment just made me laugh so hard! Way to bring some humor to this conversation.
Em, this one will go well. You have a lot of people rooting for you and for him/her. Are you still thinking about naming it George if it's a boy? Or is going to be Jem or Dill?
And by the way Haley, you forgetting my birthday is in March makes up for me misspelling your name before. And your birthday has some significance. You were born on the first day of my junior year of high school. I'll never forget that.
Now that I think about it, I do remember that it was in March. But I did forget and I'm sorry. Hehe. That's cool that you remember that. Or perhaps, Atticus?
Much as Atticus is a favorite literary character of mine, I fear he would get beat up on the school playground (plus perhaps it would be a tad bit of overkill?) Scout and I met an Atticus at the zoo once. His mom and I giggled for a minute.
Haley was born on my first day of 5th grade, which I will never forget. George is still our first choice of boy names. I have no idea what we would name a girl. I still want Mallory, but Rob doesn't like it (bad association with some girl). I can't think of anything else, and we haven't even discussed it in years.
Oh geez. Mallory is the red-headed 11 year old from the Baby-Sitters Club. George would be the cutest name EVER!! If you don't use it, we might. I like Jem too. That's cute. We're trying to decide if Jade is too cutesy.
Haha. I was just teasing about Atticus, although it is a quite cool name. Mallory is cute, I like it. Are you going to find out what it is?
That's funny that I was born on both of your first day of school. School only started for me on my birthday in second grade. That was lame. I am surprised that was the only year actually.
May I remind you, Haley, that you were NINE DAYS LATE!! You wouldn't have had to worry about the first day of school if you were on time. JK. You could have been 50 days late. You're worth it. I'm excited for you Ems. The 9th is an awesome due date. At least you can always tell the baby it had a cool due date. Hope all goes well and that all your worries will be gone after your next appointment.
