Lola

We went down for a visit to see the pups today, since we were second in line to pick, and all but 3 are claimed, there was quite a line behind us waiting for us to make our decision. After spending some time with them, we made the very tough call. We are going with "red".

Watching her and observing her build, coat, markings, etc. We came to the conclusion that she's the best. It was a very tough call against mint green. Red is the most playful and a bit bigger. Mint was a dainty little lady, we were told she is the cleanest eater and quite relaxed. These were VERY tempting attributes, but when all was said and done, Red's personality and build won out. **You can all laugh at us in a year or two when we have this ball of curiosity and playfulness when we could have had a proper little lady, but what can you do? Our guts said Red-- she was our Lola. We also decided that environment will also have a heavy hand in how our little girl turns out, and we are laid back people, and these dogs are still so little, so it's hard to tell what's going to happen at this point. So meet Lola, she will be coming home to us the weekend of the 23rd. We can't wait, and as my dad put it, "say a prayer for the idiots".

**I had to add this picture, it wasn't in my radar when I looked at the pics we took the first time, but found the belly rest fairly funny today. I think she likes the shelf.**

The cuteist ever! Good decision to go for the full gusto, size and spirit. Lola the Red will be great. Looks like she has good markings and a broad face. Nice!

I watched Sense and Sensibility yesterday again, for Elinor. I love that show (and book, of course). I've watched 6 movies in 2 days while catching up on photo albums. Quite a change from my normal routine! It's been nice being in Rexburg by myself for a couple of days.

Sounds like a real vacation Aims, how fun. I have been organizing all our pics on our computer and catching up on photo albums getting ready for LOTS of pics this fall! I now need to finish filling out Scout's baby book, it is a little behind.
I just finished reading Sense and Sensibility (for Elinor also). I also picked up the mini series my friend suggested yesterday and haven't watched it yet, I am excited to see it. I really love that story, I do enjoy the extra stuff the book has to offer about Willoughby. Except the ending with Colonel Brandon is a little short, I thought they did well in the movie making it a little more satisfying. It was Austin's first novel (I think), so she was still learning a little. Great book though. My favorite Austin, in fact.

It is a good one. I would like to see the mini-series, too.

Oh My Gosh, I was at the Vets this afternoon getting a refill of Duncans steriods and there was a female, fawn colored Great Dane. A young one, just beautiful and friendly. I can't wait to see Lola.

You still getting the pup in three or four days? Not chickening out are you?

Cute Em! I am very impressed you are going through with getting a puppy, and a Great Dane at that! I loved your dad's post on your family blog. Hee hee. You guys are funny.
p.s. my word verification is menti, like Mint. Weird.

Not chickening out dad, she is still coming. Today was the first day they are letting the pups go, and we are finding it more convenient for a few reasons to wait a few days. We'll let you all know when the day arrives....

Ah Em, I lamented the loss of Mint for about a week. It was a really hard decision for me.
