Happy Birthday Jonny!

My own Jonny Greenwood celebrated a birthday this week. I want to wish him many happy returns and to publicly declare him as my music god. Jonny, what can I say? I simply cannot get enough of your music. You have totally blown my mind and don't you ever ever ever stop.

I can't write this post without giving a little shout o
ut to Thom. I missed his birthday last month and need to make up for it. Thom, you are a master. Master lyricist, singer, mixer, just all of it. You amaze me. When you guys entered my life 8 years ago, you totally knocked my music world on it's ear and have since totally eclipsed every other band I have ever heard. I like and enjoy other music, but the problem is, at the end of the day, it just isn't Radiohead. Thank you so much for doing what you do and keep doing it!

You like to cover Carly Simon's "Nobody Does It Better" and how fitting? Truer words were never spoken.

I just had to add this picture. It makes me laugh. Thom is such a wonderful spaz.

Some good fun

Cheers

Ha, ha Em! Rob was right yesterday when he said you've stepped over the line of being a big fan into the world of obsession! I'm one to talk though, I held a birthday party for John Lennon about 20 years ago.

I just hope the next step isn't stalker.

Nah, I think I will just stay firmly entrenched in "obsession". I don't have time to go stalking around Oxford. Nor do I have the inclination- they can all rest safely in their beds at night.

At least I didn't make this video-

Wait, that isn't the one I was thinking, that one is actually not too bad. Someone made one with close up pictures of Jonny and someone is singing happy birthday really slow and creepy. I can't find it now! I wouldn't be surprised if Jonny removed it himself, if I was him and saw that video, I would never sleep again.

Yay!! Radiohead danced to Muse!! That's awesome. And it was the cutest dancing ever might I add. Was he just dancing to a recording? And that first clip is hilarious. Glad they bring you so much happiness. And I liked Johnny's 90s hair.

Thom wasn't actually dancing to Muse, he was just dancing during some instrumental part of a Radiohead song during a performance and whoever dubbed it, dubbed in Muse. I liked it and just loved his dancing so much.
My 2 favorite parts of the first video are: his laughing of course and then the "thanks for the 50 pence" line.
Jonny's 90's hair (and whole outfit) make me laugh. Very pageboy. You don't get to see Thom so well, but that early nineties era, Thom was looking pretty nuts. The last video wasn't funny, but Jonny playing "Pyramid Song" is a very iconic image and I wanted to close with it.
Glad you enjoyed my enjoyment.

That laugh was the best. Oh my goodness. And just the way he talked.

Alright, I just watched the whole video (it's quite long) that I posted a few comments back to Sue and it was amazing. I love to watch Jonny flint from instrument to weird sound box thing to instrument and watching that was like candy land!
At about 5:30, he plays the guitar and simultaneously plays the piano (using his guitar neck) a few seconds before that he is ripping strings from his guitar in order to make neat noises), then around the 7th minute he is making weird noises with his sound stuff on the floor and then jumps up with his guitar and ROCKS (it's during Bones). I don't think anyone could watch that and not understand my awe at this man's amazing talent.

That is such a cute picture of Jonny. His jawline is amazing. Scout being Bruce being a whale is just the funniest thing ever.

Emily said...

One of the great jaw lines, yes. Strange, Colin doesn't have a trace of it...

Oh yes, and I love that picture. It looks like the sun is setting on him. I suppose it could be orange stage lights, but it looks like the sun.

He does have a unique jaw line! I like how you match the color of the font with the pictures.

Em- I am so glad you went back and realized that little tag post was actually brent. I have to admit when I found out what he had done I was slightly mortified to think that people had been reading it thinking I had actually written that stuff. Yikes.
